Richard Seagall

Lives south of Melrose near the Boy Scout Camp  on property acquired by wife’s father to enjoy the quiet of rural living and nature, especially the sun sets of the lake.

Have three children and four grandchildren.  These families reside in Illinois, Michigan, and Massachusetts.

Retired in 2011 after 47 years in public school education.  Worked in Indiana, Connecticut and New Jersey.  Last 27 years in Englewood, NJ.  as building principal, district administrator and eventually superintendent.   Was active in the community serving on the board of directors for numerous non-profit agencies.

Hold degrees from Indiana University, Southern Connecticut University, University of Connecticut, and Teachers College, Columbia University.

Currently president of the Keystone Heights Rotary Club having transferred membership from Englewood/Englewood Cliffs Rotary Club.  Within the club I am working on literacy projects in local elementary schools, high school science fair, and fund raising projects to support local organizations.

Primary hobby is model railroading.  Work with the North Central Florida Model Railroad Club where I am coordinator of club projects.  Am an elected officer of the Sunshine Region of the National Model Railroad Association with work focused on supporting members in north Florida.

I am also active in politics in Putnam County working to improve legislative and Congressional support for one of the poorest counties in the state.  I hope my efforts will improve the prospects of young people to find good paying jobs so they can live locally and break the trend toward a lower standard of living.  I am also looking for ways to enhance economic develop to create jobs beyond the service sector and minimum wage.
